Royal Holiday Review
I really loved the premise of this book, the two main characters, and the setting. (Definitely a strong sense of place!) I loved that it’s a romance novel between two middle aged professionals from very different worlds.
But about halfway through the book, I found myself a bit bored. I think it was lacking other storylines and layers that add depth and interest to a story. That being said, if you’re looking for a light Christmas novel, this might be for you.
I would definitely be open to trying other Jasmine Guillory novels in the future, as I know many of her books are very loved. This one just didn’t work for me.
Review Summary
Pros: Great setting
Pros: Great characters
Pros: Loved the love story between two late middle-aged professionals.
Cons: I got bored.
Cons: Lacked more layers. (There was one, but I didn’t find it especially compelling.)
